Isola San Spirito

Isola San Spirito

Isola San Spirito, Italy

History

Isola San Spirito (the island of the Holy Spirit) shares in the deep richness of Venetian history dating back to the 1500’s. This undeveloped 6 acre island located in the Venetian lagoon, just 10 minutes by water taxi from San Marco Square in Venice, was once home to the widely recognised conquerer, Napoleon Bonaparte.

From 1500-1700 San Spirito was utilised by the Italian Government as a military base which is evident from the bunker that remains on the island.

Our Vision

Isola San Spirito represents an opportunity to create an award-winning lifestyle experience for residents and guests in an idyllic location by forging Venetian history and mindful modern architecture.

With JW Marriot and Kempinski Hotels on it’s nearest neighbouring islands, this remarkable and iconic Venetian real estate is well positioned to service the burgeoning population of tourists to Venice whilst catering to those that place value in seclusion, privacy, luxury and comfort.

Sustainability

Our vision is to deliver an environmentally sustainable ecosystem for the island by utilising the latest in energy, waste treatment, building technology and design principles. It is our objective to achieve a zero carbon footprint, making this one of the first developments of its kind in a significant tourism-focused region.

Design

Mayfair Icon Properties’ team members have been working closely with the local Urbanista, Town Planners and Council to deliver a design that complements and enhances the local Venetian architecture. The design provides a blend of historical considerations specific to the region, combined with modern design elements that produce spacious, practical, light-filled living spaces for residents and hotel guests.
